Helpful Tips

Are You A Facebook Winner

My two biggest passions for leisure activity is playing soft tip darts and golfing. I spend a lot time on darts and play golf once a month. In the past I have played golf once a week until it became too expensive. At that time when I was playing more often I considered my game fairly good considering I took up the sport late in life. When I decided to leave golf at the wayside I became more active in playing darts. I joined a couple of leagues playing 2 to 3 nights a week. My game is not great but I have a good time with friends playing the game, going to local and mainland tournaments.

Many times I have tried to improve my game - I have learned the strategies of playing however my darts don't always comply to where I am aiming them and I lose to my opponent. Every time I think I got it - I find that I don't. They say that practice is the key and I see how others have done this and improved and that's what imspires me - however my dart playing is still the same. So I ventured out to the cyber world to see if there were any helpful hints or tips on throwing darts. I did not find too many - most were on selling supplies and accessories for darts. I did come across 2 that I liked and these are what the next 2 sections are about. Read it, try it and hopefully improve your attitude and dart playing, I'm going to try it and we shall see how it goes. As i find more information I will post it in this section.

Aloha my friends

Our friends in Japan have taken a very hard hit in life with the earthquake and tsunami and there are many organizations that are taking donations for them if you could spare a few dollars to help them please do. The dart community has a special website that takes donations that will go to fellow dart players who were at the Sendai tournament when the tsunami hit and you can listen to the ordeals of some of the players that survive at this website: http://www.dartbook.tv/group/idart

  Tip 1 - Dominant Eye

These guides are a critical eye on the goal line to goal line vertical. Before you can use these, you first have to establish which is your dominant eye when throwing darts. It is the eye that you are using more natural than the other when you throw an arrow.

To find out which is your dominant eye, simply stand in front of the board as normal with a dart in your hand and bring it up into position and take aim for the bull.

Hold the dart constant and close your left eye, if your arrow remains in the same position in the line of view then use the right eye, and when the arrow appears on the left means go, you use left eye to aim with.

The TARGET AIM line is the imaginary line from your dominant eye to the target.

The guide used to start the action and the vertical line EYE.

This is the imaginary line between the starting point in your ready to throw action and the target aim line.

This is sometimes called the vertical line lost an eye.

It is very important that the hand holding the dart is exactly underneath the target aim line to ensure the throw is straight.

You must also release the dart at some point in the vertical line of the eye.

If you are on either side when you start your throw you will have to compensate and this will give slight variations in your line to the board, therefore making your throw more inconsistent.

If you have more accuracy and consistency in your game of darts are seeking is not only important to know that these guidelines, but also how to practice them.

  Tip 2 - Grip

Dart Point 1: four fingers and thumb.

Typically the smallest finger rests on the top or bottom of the dart tip for maximum guidance in acceleration. This sets up a connection on the little arrow that can help with accuracy and positioning.  However, it does require a lot fingers on the dart barrel which can cause your throw to get away from you. With all four fingers on the arrow can the shot to  \"staff \" your fingers or may due to excess of power or pushing the shot.

Dart grip #2: Three fingers and thumb.

This is a basic option that you shot a lot of control on the small arrow in the acceleration or. You can also have more control over the placement of the dart using this option. However, the third finger on the body of the arrow to increase your chances of dud, like the four fingers.

Dart grip #3: Two fingers and thumb.

This option allows for a number of fingers in the way a great shot to come at some sacrifice in control of the positioning of the dart. If your dart flutters or snaps awkwardly in the middle of your throw try moving your thumb slightly behind the center weight of the dart for more control. Most competitive dart throwers use this type of approach in games.

Dart grip #4: One finger and thumb.

This position is similar, as if it were a pen for writing. Many dart players who use this style also let the dart rest on tip of the second finger for support. This option minimizes the touch points on the housing at the expense of control cursor arrow. It can be very effective for achieving consistent dart throwing. But because it minimizes the controls may take some getting used to, before they succeed with this approach.
